Max's Review of the Nomads
I’ve toured their Denver factory. I’ve met all the guys at the Icelantic World Headquarters. I’d even skied the Shamans in Wasatch trees during a high pressure system. But I hadn’t ripped the deep on the Nomads…until the snow started to fall in the front range, and we mounted up our demo fleet here at the Wildy. I heard the virgin 181 Nomads calling my name, and was only too happy to answer. Holy Crap. These skis ride hard and fast. I was carving my turns with all my weight, and the skis kept asking for more. They smashed through anything that I could lay a tele turn into, tree well, mogul, bush, snowboarder, whatever. The first run of steep trees and bush drops left me giddy. The learning curve was sharp. The skis were hungry to show me how they could float in the pow and muscle like a bulldozer. And they carve switch turns like they’re on tracks. I’ve skied almost every ski the industry big guns will mount up tele, and I think the local boys are the ones that have it dialed. I seriously considered forgoing my Wildy paycheck, and hitting the road with my new Nomad, but the Wildy demo fleet is deep and the season is still young…
