Italian boot makers Dalbello, along with Glen Plake, made this boot for maximum freeskiing versatility. It is stiff and powerful on the downhill yet comfortable in the uphill/walk mode due to an articulated tongue. With its unusually free walk mode, you save energy on the tour. In ski mode, the boot competes with the stiffest AT choices out there. 

Dalbello's Cabrio Design starts with three pieces for the outer shell — two for the top (shell and cuff) and one separate piece for the foot that's harder plastic for a stiffer skiing boot that still allows you to control it with subtle movements.
